my fave!

photo ctto
i love food. and that's the reason why i can never be as skinny as japanese or korean movie stars i've seen on asian horror films. i watch my weight but i was never super skinny, ever. i'm not really into japanese food because i'm mostly into italian or mexican stuff until my sister introduced me to Tokyo Tokyo's Best Chicken Teriyaki

BEST! Chicken Teriyaki originally cost Php129.00 which my sister and i normally pair with red iced tea. so, the meal would cost you Php181.00 per head more or less. my sister told me she loved the way it was cooked since it wasn't fried. well, how are we supposed to know? all i know is that it's really tasteful.

moving on, i hope typhoon frank is departs soon before it gets destructive. one electric post just collapsed yesterday which might be the reason why we didn't have electricity the whole day long.

food and stuff

food bonding time, that's why i love week ends. my sister took home this salisbury steak meal from red ribbon and i never thought it was a huge meal which consists of pork chop, corn kernels, carrots, mashed potato, rice and a slice of black forrest cake with drinks. i was stuffed until dinner.

food coma. i fell asleep afterwards no matter how bad that may sound because sleeping is not good after devouring a huge meal and it was already evening when i woke up. i read a daunting news online about a local actor who recently passed away due to pancreatic cancer. i was quite shocked because he died prematurely whilst his career souring high. too bad. anyways, whilst surfing the internet i was talking to my elder sister in up north over sms regarding our growing up niece who's hates her new school down to those creepy things that has been going on in our house there. my sister told me there's 'doppelgänger' which means, someone copies or duplicates somebody else. crazy as it may sound but i believe in these kinds of things because they really exist and even history could prove that. i seriously got scared out of my wits because i was home alone last night. damn, i hate scary stuff when i'm home alone.

freaky it is.
i slept around 2:00 past in the morning again and fortunately had a sound sleep amidst the wake across the street. a neighbor just passed away few days ago and people who visited the wake almost blanketed our entire street. they were rowdy but what to expect from a typical filipino funeral right? the noise subsided around past midnight. the street was pitched dark except for the light bulb illuminating the tent.

breakfast of champions
this morning, my sister brought home breakfast from this 24/7 convenient store on her way home after her evening shift. she brought me some Ministop sharksfin (it's not really a shark's fin by the way, it's just fried dumpling). i love spending breakfast with my twin sister that's why i stayed up late last night to move the fixtures in our flat so we could have a bigger makeshift dining area. i also re-arranged our thing in such a way we both could see the TV whilst dining. We both love watching TV whist eating because we're cable TV junkies lol.  i love weekend. i love sleeping. i love simple things in life that makes us happy.

nothing feels like weekend...

i just decorated our flat's bathroom and bought some shower caddy whilst my sister bought some scented candles. i just wanted to make our bathroom look cozy lol. i wasn't totally happy with the way it turned out but i'll take some time fixing it one of these days perhaps.

the world i know....

i woke up really early today because of my body clock. i just hate it when they turn off the lights in the hallway, it's so pitch black as if some loomy creature will turn up any time soon. anyways, i wento to pain & rehab clinic yesterday and no, nothing serious, just a case of a sprained left ankle. the Ortho explained to me the different types of muscle strain, the least serious ones and the major ones. mine is nothing serious as i figured. i just thought i need to see a doctor so the problem will be treated as it should be. i almost forgot to ask for a medical certificate. maybe i was so tired pacing around. the therapy was pricey had not for my healthcare provider. as far as i know it was somewhere around Php750 per session if i'm not mistaken. i was told i need at least 6 sessions, so 5 to go which would cost Php4,500.

moving on, i recently watched this Korean/Vietnamese horror flick called Muoi and it was interesting. not so scary but freaky enough. here's my review..

Muoi
The Legend of a Portrait is a 2007 South Korean/Vietnamese horror film starring Jo An, Cha Ye-ryeon and Anh Thu. It became the first horror and also first rated film in Vietnam.

**Plot summary***

Yun-hee is under a lot of pressure because her editor wants her produce something interesting enough to sell for her next book. She hasn’t had a book published in three years and is all too cognizant of this fact. Things look up when her old friend Seo-yeon calls from Vietnam. Seo-Yeon informs Yun-hee about a local Vietnamese folklore centered around a girl named “Muoi” and her haunted portrait. It just so happens that in Yun-hee’s prior novel, she wrote a semi-autobiographical tale concerning her friends title “Secrets & Lies”. In the book Seo-Yeon was portrayed in the most horrid manner, but Yun-hee is sure that Seo-Yeon hasn’t read the book as she has been living in Vietnam for years. Yun-hee eagerly flies to Vietnam to learn more about Muoi.

Over a century ago, Muoi was born as a normal child, but was ostracized by the locals and led a lonely existence. She grows up with dazzling beauty and eventually falls in love with a handsome painter named Nguyen (Binh Minh), but Nguyen also charms a wealthy girl (Hong Anh) who is extremely jealous and vindictive. Once she finds out about Muoi’s relationship with Nguyen, she has Muoi’s ankle broken and face disfigured by something like acid in an utterly gruesome manner. Shortly afterwards, on the 15th day of the lunar calendar (the full moon day), with full grudge of social isolation, terrible maltreating and a current horrible face, Muoi hangs herself to return as a ghost out for revenge. Eventually, village monks are able to capture Moui’s vengeful spirit and seal it within her portrait by a hairpin. When Yoon-hee hears about a mystery of the portrait of Muoi from her best friend Seo-yeon in Vietnam, she goes there to meet her friend. However mysterious things occur as they try to uncover the secret of Muoi's portrait.

Upon investigation, Yoon-hee knows a Korean professor who was some years ago involved in the curse's research and also a friend of Seo-yeon. The professor has disappeared without any clue. Finally, after a long time of horrors throughout the exploration, she finds out a terrible fact that Muoi's spirit was stuck with him and transferred into Seo-yeon. His bloody corpse falls into Yoon-hee when she discovers a secret chamber in Seo-yeon's villa. Coming down the subway, she finds a recorded tape made by the professor with an incantation to call Muoi's spirit. At the end, he counts from one to ten in Vietnamese (Muoi means Ten originally) and the portrait appears in the dark with Muoi's corpse emerging from the picture. Muoi is now awakened and chases Yooh-hee while she tries her last energy to exit the chamber. At the end of her way, she finds her friend Seo-yeon standing together with Muoi's sudden disappearance. Seo-yeon insists Yoon-hee to kill her by a hairpin as she is marred by the ghost. Tearfully, Yoon-hee then stabs her friend. However, Seo-yeon suddenly laughs out loud, signing that Muoi is now transferred into Yoon-hee. Without struggle, Yoon-hee was highly hanged and entered by Muoi. The film ends with Yoon-hee's vengeful smirk after avenging Seo-yeon's betraying lover.
