nostalgia time

i spent almost the entire day yesterday downloading mp3s through frostwire. most of which were music during my highschool and some college days. it's just wonderful to be able to look back and like finding stuff you're looking for in years still stuck in cyberspace. imagine, it's been 14 or 15 years back and those music that you used to listen to still resides somewhere online and all you need is just to surf your heart out and rely on your memory as much as you could.

i'm glad to find my old pinoy rock faves such as agaw agimat's 'kahit na,' 'kisame,' and color it red's 'i need you here' sitting on other people's hard drives perhaps and that they're just generous to share them to those who still remembers.

reminiscing music that you used to listen to and kept you company is like finding a piece or fragment of your past that you've been looking for although you're not aware you've lost it and reconcilling with memories of your adolescence seemed to have patched up one missing fragment of your present. i know it may sound weird but hey back then those were the music that i was not able to really acquire any album copies of since i never got the means or time to go to record stores and buy them so i just got content listening and waiting for airplays. except for color it red's handpainted sky album since me and my sister really took some time getting a copy for keepsakes since it'll definitely be a classic in years to come.

it's such a wonderful feeling to reunite with your old self and music. they never die maybe it's just memory loss that'll kill them.

omigod, i so love wade robson's performance in dancing with the stars! they danced to the tune of 'hi' by this artist called PSAPP. after i watched it i right away looked for the track and i found it and eventually loved the artist and listened to few more tracks. i ended up liking PSAPP to make the long story short :) wade robson is really an awesome dancer.

orange crush.

work is toxic today. i hate it when work gets toxic. sometimes, you just wanna go out and breathe some fresh air, if screaming would help i should've. anger is something that's just so hard to contain. or you'll explode.

Lee Min Ho
my head was really pounding earlier and a dose of caramel coffee seemed to have flushed my thoughts about work away. moving on, i find this korean actor cute. he's that guy from boys over flowers (korean version of taiwan's meteor garden). here's a quick run down of my celebrity crushes just for kicks. (in no particular order):

ryan gosling - he's
a great actor that's
why.

ira cruz - one helluva guitar God.
I've been a fan since Passage.
john lennon - the man is deep.
kurt cobain - i've loved him since the first time i
saw him perform on mtv: nirvana unplugged in n.y.
his teeth were like white picket fences. i was
heartbroken when he died. yeah, i was teenager
back then, what can i do?
eddie vedder -
don't call me daughter....

Mon Castro i saw him first during my
internship with NU 107, Manila's rock FM
radio station. He's a jock for one of the station's
late night program called Euro rock
and boy he's got nice skin and
(i swoon over guys with) perfect set of teeth.
he borrowed the chair right next to me because
all the jocks are recording the station's OBB.
he was then the frontman for the band the Pin Up Girls.
jv medrano - mariya's mistress, drummer. it's was pretty difficult to find a photo
for this guy online. i guess it's 'cuz he kept a low profile. this picture of his is
the best one i got from the band's facebook page. mariya's mistress btw used to
be a bad ass filipino female fronted rock band back in the 90's.
you may check out their facebook fan page here.
wade robson, i'm not really into
dancer kind of guys but he's
a great dancer!

brian velasco - drummer, razorback.
don't be deceived by just the good looks,
this dude is an awesome drummer too.

k-drama syndrome

i've bee busy watching this 'boys over flowers' dvd which my sister brought home last week. it was a pain playing a dvd disc using a media player from a laptop because of the format. i tried installing this dvd player software but there was a conflict because of our existing KM Player so buffered like hell that i needed to install then re-install to resolve the issue.

i watched body #19 yesterday had mcdo delivered to our flat. i miss cheeseburger and oreo mcflurry though since i started dieting.anyways, body #19 is a demented thai horror/suspense flick which i did not enjoy because i hate boring horror movies. the plot was kind of vague so it was kinda hard to make sense out of it.

i did enjoy boys over flowers though which the korean version of meteor garden. there's a rumor that BOF came first before meteor garden. it wasn't as heavy drama compared to taiwan's meteor garden though.

i think Lee Min Ho (GOO JUN PYO) the cutest except the curly hair (my sister told me he's a levis model in korea) then Kim Joon as SONG WOO BIN, Kim Bum as SO YI JUNG (the boy next door cutie) lastly Kim Hyun Joong as YOON JI HOO except his light brown hair, it was so gay. i found him very feminine in this soap though lol.

hospital visit.

I used one of my leave passes today so i could drop by at the hospital. my siblings told me that our Dad's been looking for me since last week and i haven't visited him yet since he was admitted at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH). today's independence day, a holiday so i expected the traffic won't be heavy so i left the flat late.

moving on, i hate crappy movies. those that will just waste your time watching them and  'House of Gory' is one of those. how come i did not see that coming just by the movie title? First of, the movie casts and i mean almost all the movie stars in movie was either over or under-acting. Second, the movie and it's entirety did not make any sense so i ended up pushing the forward button to skip some of the scenes before my brain shrink. Nonetheless, here's the synopsis:

Thavachai Minmukda and Chutima Avery star in this erotic tale of terror about a sadistic lord who neglects his infertile bride to lavish attention on their beautiful slaves, and the jealous wife who takes vicious revenge by torturing the wretched servants. ~

don't waste your time watching it. watching our tiny dog jack's video barking at himself in front of the mirror is far better than watching this flick.

PGH..

i hate going to manila because it's so muggy outside. a family member picked me up at the hospital's lobby before i get lost because of the endless stairs, exits, entrances etc. i thought everyone at the hospital would be wearing masks due to the H1N1 outbreak yet they didn't thank God, everything felt normal.

it's been a week since i last saw my Dad and he lost so much weight. It's his 5th major operation to date (same diagnosis) except this time a neuro-ortho specialist performed his surgery. i have faith in the doctor since my dad is finally able to sleep compared before. the first female  risked putting my dad under the knife without taking into account his age and sensitive health condition. i can't wrap my head around why some surgeons could be so neglectful considering a human life is at stake. my family figured, we can actually sue the first surgeon for malpractice since she placed my father's life in great jeopardy. she performed the operation even if she's well aware that my dad is diabetic and surgery is very risky without proper tests. after the surgery was performed by that first surgeon, my dad's ear infection aggravated so the more experienced surgeon (and i also heard) one of the country's best surgeon from PGH just cleaned up the first surgeon's mess and was even shocked that the previous female surgeon risked performing the initial surgery in the first place considering my dad's state of health.

my dad did not sue the first surgeon despite what she did whilst he could've made her pay for the damages (financial and emotional) brought about by her obvious negligence. my dad said he felt pity for the neglectful female surgeon because she is a single mother. we talked to him about it telling him that her having a daughter is out of the question, she should pay for the damages she made. to no avail our Dad did not really file any lawsuit except for a complaint snail mailed to the hospital where he was initially operated. in my opinion, no one should shrug off things like that because such mistake could've cost my Dad's life and for sure will happen again to other patients.

relax...see a movie...

it's my rest day and i went to the movie theatre all by myself amidst the bad weather. it's really windy outside mind you. i just got frustrated about how my dad is doing in the hospital since he needs another operation. he's already like hospital hopping since his hospital bills are sky rocketing bad he's not getting any better. i don't wanna think about problems. i want life to be happy for as much as possible. i don't think i need to own the problems of the world nor my family's own problems. i just have this notion fending for myself is big help that my parents no longer support me financially.

anyways, i watched drag me to hell. it was daunting but not really that scary. i love scary movies. there was this part in the movie that really freaked me out because the disturbing noise lasted for like two minutes and it felt like the entire movie cinema will collapse anytime or should i blame the dolby/surround system? well, i enjoyed the movie. it was alright actually and i guess the gross parts made it even more horrific. i need not spoil the surprise i think people need to see the movie themselves.

moving on, i love coraline. my sister got a crystal clear dvdrip copy which she downloaded online and i loved it. it was surreal and full of enigma. i can't say it's really for kids since it may be a li'l violent in nature due the whole button-eye-sewing part. i did enjoy it since it has all what every kid wanted for, a magical and perfect world where everything is what they pretty much want. i so love movies that bring out the kid in me. a truly must watch.
