manila ocean park

i was able to visit the ocean park at last after putting the trip on hold so many times. it has been my most awaited weekend (sort of) get away from the office, the boring atmosphere, nonsense politics, ramblings etc.

my family and i got there a little late because my sister was not able to get off from work until past nine in the morning and as soon as i left the office myself i head straight home to check my snail mails and email notification from Meralco regarding my electricity bill, was sidetracked with tons of stuff then off i go. my mom and dad arrived past 11am (i think) then we hurriedly hit the road hoped to elude the ever snarling traffic jams since it's 'the weekend' and damn, we didn't.

manila's weather is very hot like you're being roasted inside an oven (possibly over 80•F yesterday). we reached the ocean park past twelve noon and as expected people clamored and hogged the ticket booths. i hate hot weather, damn. i don't think i could anymore endure this kind of temperature.  the ticket was not cheap for 400php (adults) and 350php (kids) but if the child is below 4.5 ft. then they're free.

the line was like a maze and everything was just on disarray. we basically followed few people hoping they knew where they're going since the Marshalls just kept saying 'keep left for those who have tickets...' unfortunately when we reached the middle of the so called 'line' we've followed people for nothing and we were asked to follow this line yadda yadda again. so, this basically caused an argument between the customers falling in line and the so called marshalls. Some cussed, some ranted, some were angry as hell. nevertheless, everything was settled and we got our turn to view manila's first oceanarium.

the oceanarium was packed which is not something i anticipated. it was so hard to take pictures because people kept passing by. we went to 'AGOS' first which is an open space area under the scorching heat of the sun. it was a pretty and refreshing site to see. they have those mini water falls and wooden stairs which also served as entrance to the oceanarium which housed the many humongous aquariums. it was a pretty sight although we expected so much more and bigger space as seen on TV.  the ocean world was phenomenal plus the artificial seabeds. i just hope that people should be more obedient in following the rules not to take photos with their camera flash on because it may be very stressful to those sea creatures. remember, this is not their natural habitat, the ocean park is like a zoo, the only difference is that these are all water creatures contained in a gigantic glass enclosure however the concept is the same.

the underwater world is such a wonder but i do not appreciate that some people make money depriving these beings from their natural habitat. on the other hand thank you for bringing them close to people who do not have access to the underwater world for possibly the purpose of educating us all on marine life but, i just hope as well that the huge aquarium walls are one way wherein we can only view the fishes but they can never see us so that the sea creatures won't be disturbed at all. the place was cozy especially if it's not too packed. i loved the fishes and i even enjoyed it when one of the stingrays playfully showed his tricks when people started looking, what a show off lol. i wasn't aware that aside from dolphins some sea creatures love to be adored ;)

i enjoyed the place because the sight of underwater world never cease to amaze me. my dad even said that nothing beats Palawan's sea creatures, if i found the oceanarium awesome the real thing is even more. i don't know, maybe it's just the sight of the underwater world, it's just soothing and tranquil. the cool blue sea, the coral reefs and colorful fishes. i loved the barracudas by the way when they started to swim in unison, so awesome.

we headed off to the nearby restaurant for some grub as soon as we left the oceanarium. the meals were actually cheap for 100php per rice topping. almost every meal is below 100php under the canopy of the blue umbrellas.  i had some roast beef and mango shake whilst my sister b-b-q and sinigang.

to sum it up (hadn't for the hot temperature outside) it was a cool experience to see the oceanarium along with the beauty of manila's harbor area. the cost for the entrance was pretty hefty though. maybe the prize will drop once the entire place is done. obviously some areas are still under construction.  Manila Ocean Park did not exceed my expectation but it was a nice experience to at least have a sneak peek of the underwater world for less than an hour.

it's a long way back...i must've been lost in the trail

photo ctto
i stumbled upon this blog called Nerisa's 'bodies of water' on friendster and found her writings interesting. her look kind of reminded me of my college days when i was still engrossed with hippies. i miss my plaid vintage clothes and semi bell bottom trousers. i miss college days. i miss my old self, the loner side of me, my love for silence and those days i spent with my guitar. the poetries and letters i wrote to myself, i wonder why i have lost them in my heart? my love for black and white photographs was now replaced by digital imaging which can now be altered by photo editing softwares. time has changed so swiftly.

happy easter fellas!

As soon as i got home after my shift last Saturday morning, i logged in to Blogger.com and went gaga over blogger themes i found online. i was so engrossed and tried out about fifteen layouts at first then ended up with the my best bet. it was pretty difficult to edit because you need to have really keen eye for html codes. it was tough really. it's like dissection. as soon as its finished, i was relieved and proud of myself for a job well done yehey! it made me love my new blog site and made me feel like writing a lot of stuff here. i'm just pretty tired of friendster because it has turned toxic. i like blogging more now than friendster.

moving on, i waited for my sister until 10AM for some weekend bonding. i love about the weekend, rest and food. we had some tacos and shakes to go which was light for an afternoon snack since we got home around 2am. yesterday, we went to church and had breakfast. the homily was about how majority of catholics spend their holy week which is mostly having fun. true enough, i find it quite inappropriate spending holy week having a ball whilst we're all supposed to contemplate how Jesus died on the cross. the  church goers were quiet for a while. many might've felt the pang of guilt that's why. i myself was at work the whole week because it's double pay. people may have their own reasons and job schedule can be real hectic that's why they make the most out of the season and spend it with their loved ones. i guess that's just the way life goes..

Easter..
Anyways, belated Happy Easter! Let's celebrate, Jesus has risen. Go forth and start looking for those easter eggs.

Trip to our family home...
Moreover, i was so busy moving our desktop computer back to my sister and i's room. our eldest sister just recently gave birth to her second child and she's moving somewhere else with my parents and her first daughter to start life anew i guess. well, it's better off that way. and for myself, i kept sneezing the whole time yesterday due to the dust particles from the computer. My sister and I also fixed all the internet wires for the DSL servicewe got all our systems hooked up  before lunchtime. i bet i will go home more often since i just got the news from sister who's in our flat that there's a blackout there again. sucks. our poor dog is infested by fleas due to the hot weather. i hate summer really.

i can't wait...

i went home early today because i got excited when my sister sent me an sms me after my shift that ocean park will be open on black saturday. i was delighted because i'm so yearning to go there. it's such a heavenly place for a person who loves aquamarine life. i may not be a swimmer or lover of beaches, but, a sight of fishes and humongous aquariums have this calming effect on me.

happy graduation to all...

Best images, comment images, layouts and more for your profile on SparkleTags.com
the past weekend had been quite hectic. i turned busy with couple of graduations in the family. My niece who will be graduating from elementary and my elder sister  will be graduating from law school. time flies.

i rushed home to do our niece's make up since she believe my sister and i have the talent to beautify people lol. actually, after work i hurried home, packed my make up stuff, had breakfast (although it took so long for mcdo delivery to arrive, got the wrong order because i was so groggy during the order-taking process) then headed where i'm supposed to go. luckily, i made it on time. past 9AM, my parents were already there to attend their grandaughter's graduation. hours later, i started doing her make up, attempted to curl her hair etc. then lo and behold i can't perm her hair oh god. so, i decided to somewhat french braid her hair and thank God it turned out fine although i regret i don't have a real curling iron. my sister arrived late because her shift ends at 9AM. i was so proud to showcase my masterpiece lol.

Another reason to celebrate.

my sister just graduated from law school wohoo! good thing it was a saturday yesterday so we made it to her graduation although our schedule is pretty hectic neither. the traffic snarled again. our sister over sms told us to pick her up at the salon nearby since she just had her hair & make up done and she wouldn't commute looking all glammed up lol (i wouldn't do that myself neither). as soon as we got home we grabbed a quick lunch and hurried to roxas boulevard to get to PICC on time. my dad even scolded his driver for over speeding. thank God we arrived just on time. it was so muggy in PICC damn. it felt like a deserted place where no stalls to buy drinks nor food from. we went for a quick walk to check out where to eat just to find we have to have a transportation to get to the nearest fast food joint. so, my sister and i along with our niece waited in vain for the graduation ceremony to finish just to find we could use the other entrance on the other side of the building to get to the venue without tickets and even take pictures. oh ok, what the heck right? what a waste, we could've taken some more pictures because moments like this will never happen again geez. nevertheless, there's always a reason to be thankful, always.

weekend bluezz..

just got back home to our flat. i had a good rest this weekend. i had good sleep as well. sometimes,
it's a good thing that we don't have online access back home , that we need to go up to our niece's room just to check stuff online. and most of the time, i just don't have the time because that part of the house is already populated by boarders. i don't like mingling w/ stangers as usual. i'm so sick and tired of this whole female world. women talks a lot, rant a lot and giggles like hell. oh god. spare me.

i miss my days w/ technical accounts where women were outnumbered by men. men just care less and rants less. they're just concern if you're having difficulties and offers a hand in case. they, most of the time would like competing w/ their own than women.

anyways, i don't know how to stretch my schedule for the weekend. i'm still on medication technically due to allergic cough. yeah, my bad i know i should've not binged on salty foods while my cough is still bad. i'm just stubborn hehehe. so after that morning i started coughing out so bad that my head ached and all. i hate getting sick. the worst thing of all.

i went to the doctor last week, i told him i've been taking cough medication such as loviscol but to no avail my cough barely subsided. so, he prescribed this anti-histamine tablet which cost php35 a piece. i thought so, i need anti-histamine because i suspect it's some kind of an allergy because cough syrup did not help. he prescribed Flenex, at first i thought it's not helping me either but after roughy 10-20 minutes my coughing stopped like magic. i was awed how the medicine worked. amazing.

weekend...had ample of sleep. i rested well. this morning dropped by in the mall to purchase another loose powder. i just did not like the one i just recently got. the color just did not match mine.

my recent addiction...magnolia's powdered apple juice. i love it. reminds me of burger king's hi-c apple. kewl.
