groomer has it :)

Took ziggy the dog to the pet groomer because the poor dog badly need grooming time. it was a disaster at first because ziggy won't calm down so the vet had to sedate him. the cost was reasonable though.

I had cerealicious then later on italian yogurt hat. It was a little costly for a cup of yoghurt though.

we barely recognized ziggy after the grooming session which lasted hours. he was shaved to rid of those hair balls we were satisfied since his fingernails were trimmed as well. he's no longer the scruffy looking ziggy! i hope that's a good doggie christmas present for him.

house blessing

my sister catched the early 5am bus ride and she missed the house blessing due to her work schedule. few people joined us for the house blessing which is good since the place isn't even finish yet. my brother decided to buy some pancit and rice cakes for us to share after the ceremony. the priest arrived around 2PM. we had the usual eating time after the house blessing and the priest left soon because he still has a wedding ceremony to attend to.

merry christmas 09

My dad showed me around as soon as i arrived at our brand new house on the North. It is still less than halfway from finishing though but it was HUGE! if am not mistaken there's roughly seven rooms or so. we occupied the attic, there's four more rooms, the 2nd floor houses the store and cafeteria. the 3rd floor/basement has three more rooms i guess. my sister  and i went on videoke the whole afternoon. i say merry christmas.

pre xmas blues

As much as i wanna go ahead and enjoy my christmas break to the fullest, i have to go to work. i can smell the christmas air. i received my cute christmas presents today, one cute mug from my boss, and another cute stuffed toy from a friend. i really won't mind if i will receive any christmas presents because for me, my idea of the yuletide season is not really about gifts but togetherness with the family, to bury all the hatchet for those people who had them this year. time to forgive and forget perhaps as another year is about to bid adieu.

off to the north.
i arrived in baguio one hour ahead of schedule. the bus  i was on almost missed our house. i arrived around 4am and yeah it was still very dark. scary. i missed noche buena but i'm glad to arrive home safe and sound.

christmas break 1

this is what i usually do during my vacation leave, completely hibernate from anything work related and help my sister (cook her lunch and do all the household chores) i don't wan't to slack off or i'll go crazy. at night  i will go back  reading my chicken soup for the soul book then doze off. i might buy another book one of these days to keep me busy this xmas season. i'm excited for my longer christmas break.

i still love all of the episodes and i will never stop looking out for more seasons. melinda, now has a son named aiden while happily married to jim, who's now a doctor.  she found a best friend in the name of eli, another university professor in lieu of prof. pane.

i finally wrapped this gift for my niece and sent my sister an mms to show her how good i was in picking kids clothes lol. she said they were beautiful. actually, they were all melinda inspired because i totally love melinda's fashion sense in the ghost whisperer.

too much stress could kill you.

i've never been to sm north edsa in ages. i won't step foot there hadn't for our bayantel phone line because you need to personally hand the disconnection letter to them with your ID, what a big hassle. it took me almost half an hour bayantel's office. lo and behold, i found the way that leads to the sky garden where the annex part of building is located. if i only came from the old sm north wing, i could've gone straight to the north annex. the sm annex really changed a lot. the whole thing totally stressed me out.

homey at last.
i just watched this korean flick I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK. It was crazy. a love story flourished in the confides of a mental asylum.

a chicken soup!

my sister gave me my present, a chicken soup for the soul cat lovers edition. she even put a ribbon on lol. how wonderful. i haven't got her any present because i can't find any magic 8 ball anywhere and i seriously searched every corner and it was nowhere to be found.

watched 'a christmas carol' today at the movie theatre and it was nice. i felt the spirit of christmas even more. it was about the ghost of christmas future. mr. scrooge is a grumpy, selfish, old man who was so consumed about money all his life that he forgot about the true meaning of christmas.

can't get enough of..

Lykke Li
november...is just not my month because of an ongoing jinx as if someone had cast a spell on me.

i love new moon's OST (twilight sequel) most especially the heart wrenching trip-hop-ish track by lykke li called  'possibility.' i can still imagine bella sitting in front of the window whilst the world spins around her now turned gloomy world since edward left. here's few lines from the song...

So tell me when you hear my heart stop, you're the only one that knows
Tell me when you hear my sobbing, there's a possibility I wouldn't know.
So tell me when my crying's over, you're the reason that I'm crying.
Tell me when you hear me

falling, there's a possibility it wouldn't show...
does it run in the family? political dynasty at its
finest.

moving on, i recently heard about the mass murder which happened in maguindanao few days ago, it was so damn ruthless as if the law does not exist. according to the news, media people and huge number of civilians were killed and buried alive. a certain mangundadatu is supposed to file his certificate of candidacy thus he was joined by supporters and media practitioners who would cover the event, hours later fifty people died. we really need to bring back death penalty.

my 'new moon' day

saturday's pretty short. today, my sister and i watch Twilight saga: new moon. i love that the twilight sequels, guilty as charged.  as expected, a lot of young adults fell in line (it only shows how filipinos love romantic flicks lol). twilight was a blast and what to expect with new moon but more curious movie-goers who will definitely hog movie theatres anticipating the sequel will rock even more than the first. we were holding on to our seats as soon as the lights went off. i was really excited honestly since twilight never bored me ever. so, i expected new moon would be more exciting.

new moon was indeed better compared to twilight. i love it, the love triangle of bella, jacob and edward was interesting. bella is torn between jacob, a guy from the family of wolves and edward from a family of vampires. both parties made a pact not to cross certain territories otherwise a breach of such would mean blood shed.

i was actually thrilled watching new moon since i am a fan of vampire stuff, dark-themed and sinister flicks (say sweeney todd, interview with a vampire, dracula etc.), i was never bored. it was actually quite funny with how people reacted when jacob took off his shirt to attend to bella after she hit head due to the motorcycle accident. she literally hurled towards this nearby huge chunk of rock. seriously, regadless if jacob took off his shirt or not it was still a nice flick. i still love bella's character, the cool and boyish girl from forks. edward, the profound, sneaky and protective vampire madly in love with bella, jacob, the guy who will never quit loving bella and last but not least, charlie, bella's ever good natured and loving dad.

by the way i love almost all of bella's sweaters and hoodies in the movie so i researched where she gets her clothes from and came across this website which is the movie's official site.

i stumbled upon this artist's wonderful artworks somewhere on the web while scouring the cyberspace for new blog skins ...please do check her out. her works are awesome..http://www.audrey-kawasaki.com/index.php

shiny new toy

i've been pretty pre-occupied because of my brand new samsung star. i was thought about getting myself a sony ericsson s312 at first because i found it really sleek yet affordable. however, when i went to the phone shop, i saw this dummy touchscreen phone called samsung star and i thought it was chic. i asked the sales person if the phone came in different colors other than the one on display, i originally wanted somethng purple but they offered me the pink one with wifi. alright, so i took the pink then. i installed the software/pc suite and it took me like roughly two hours transferring all my files from my previous phone. now i'm saying bye bye to my old pal, a nokia 6300. samsung star is more user friendly than i thought. i did not even read the manual yet was able to learn about it and the stylus is barely noticeable neither. i love the interface, the fonts highly customizable fonts etc. i love the glass interface although i was just sad that it doesn't have smileys (the yellow smiley buttons) unlike with series 40 nokia phones. i still couldn't get enough of my new star!

typhoon phenomena.

the news about another super typhoon coming close to the philippine area of responsibility (PAR) created panic since yesterday. i've been receiving forwarded precautionary measures via sms in the event the super typhoon 'peping' hits manila.  on my way to work yesterday morning, the bus is played this movie (i can't recall the title) about the effects of climate change, hailstorm, sudden temperature change etc. it scared me more because it was very timely considering the current situation.

i just finished watching pang brother's the eye. i still love it up to now even if i have watched that darn movie countless times.

anyways, here's a li'l something i wanna share. found it on facebook. it's about the bond that formed between a human being and a wild animal.

flashflood of memories.

i'm not really that much aware how terrible the recent typhoon 'ondoy' caused the country. the country was submerged for a day and the aftermath--murky city, loss of properties and the worse, loss of lives. i'm still lucky that my sister and i just experienced roughly 15hours or so without electricity and almost 48hrs without water but otherwise, we did not lose anything...we're still safe and sound. it's sad to think how other people still managed to take advantage of the situation such as unscrupulous cab drivers overpricing whilst the road is submerged in floodwaters. how could they? on a lighter note, it's good to know that other countries are extending help as we face the aftermath of the recent calamity that marred us all. as far as i know, even hollywood celebs have been promoting philippine red cross in twitter. among them was ricky martin, ashton kutcher and wife demi moore, josh groban etc. germany sent financial aid amounting to Php25M. i hope the country will recover soon because it's really hurtful to see our nation severely wounded and as much as i don't want to think about it anymore, it just keep crossing my mind.

ok, enough of the heavy stuff because they make me sad.

moving on, i bought this wonderful lava lamp yesterday since i've been eyeing that thing for a week now. free lunch at work because of the typhoon.

the day is just too short for everything...

'Batanes'

casts: ken chu and iza calzado.

it was quite lengthy. it was boring yeah but also interesting at the same time. the story is about a woman who lost her husband early in the marriage. she decided to settle for good in batanes, her husband's hometown. she met a fisherman who's boat capsized. the man was from china, lost his memory and unable to communicate in english. the love blossomed between the two despite rumours since the woman just lost her husband not too long ago.

Black Jack (Anime)

i
i'm not into anime but this one in particular is quite addicting.

indie cine weekend.

Downloaded quite a few local indie flicks and most them were gay-themed indie movies. sometimes, it makes me ponder if indie movies really caters to more intellectual audiences or do they just use it as an avenue for pornography? i happened to watch 'serbis,' 'sagwan' and 'dayreak + centerfold' and the nudity and sex scenes will definitely not make the cut considering MTRCB's rule on censorship. i wasn't surprised with the nudity and all since this is what indie films is all about right? be bold. be brave.  i was just surprised that the these indie movies were literally bold and brave, almost pornographic. anyways, here's the synopsis for everything care of Wikipedia.

~Baler~

In 1898, a band of Spanish soldiers heroically defended Baler (which would later be the capital municipality of Aurora in 1951) against Filipino forces for 337 long and grueling days.

The battle, now referred to as the Siege of Baler, is the setting of a forbidden love between a Spanish-Indio soldier and a Filipina lass who lived at the end of the 19th century.

The movie is based on a true story and is directed by Mark Meily.

~Sagwan~

Sagwan is story of an 18-year-old rural boy named Alfred, whose routinary life as a boatman complicates as he discovers how much more life around him has to offer. His haunting family’s dark past inhibits him from living his young life freely.

~Daybreak (2008)~

Category Drama Gay-Theme
Label Others

Tagalog Movie

Daybreak i think is a low budget short film shot entirely in a rest house in Taal, Batangas with only with two actors: Coco Martin and Paolo Rivero.

It was a single narrative time, intending by way of voyeurism, to discover what happens to two men spending one night contemplating whether to break up or continue their relationship. William (Paolo Rivero) a pedetrician and JP (Coco Martin), a local boatman/tour guide, spend the night in William's resthouse in Taal trying to find words, answers, and tears to decide whether to break-up or take their relationship to the next level- William leaving his wife and finally living with JP. Memories and dreams, truths and lies, fears and desires, honesty and betrayal, a love and hate- they all closely entwined in this night. Behind the veil of words, they become intimate, but will the light of sunrise bring this intimacy to end? (source: Wikipedia)

* Coco Martin
* Paolo Rivero

~Serbis~

Serbis is an independent film by Brillante Mendoza, starring Gina Pareño and RP’s prince of indie movies Coco Martin. The film is a story of men who offer sexual services inside a movie house. It was invited to the official competition of the 61st Cannes Festival in France and was regarded as the most controversial in Cannes for the year 2008.

Synopsis:

A rural family decides to run a prostitute service based in a fake theater in Angeles, Pampanga. The theater shows dated sexy double-feature films. The old building also serves as the residence of the family. Nanay Flor serves as the matriarch of the movie house while her family serve as her employees. Her daughter Nayda, son-in-law Lando and adopted daughter Jewel take turns in manning the ticket booth and canteen. Her nephews Ronald and Alan also help in the family business as a projectionist and billboard painter respectively.

Nanay Flor files a bigamy case against her husband but loses the case and feels betrayed when her own son testifies in court in favor of his father. Alan, financially unprepared for marriage, feels burdened by the fact that his pregnant girlfriend wants him to marry her. Nayda is torn between her commitment to her husband and her attraction to her cousin Ronald.

Unknown to the family, aside from movies, there's another kind of business going on inside the theater. The movie house also serves as a den for "serbis" boys (male prostitutes) who offer sexual services to gay patrons for a price. (source: Wikipedia)

There you have it. Oh sorry btw, i'm just too lazy to write my own synopsis right now.

life and plastics...

i went on dvd marathon yesterday until the break of dawn. i watched whispering corridors 5 (blood pledge), another korean horror flick  about high school girls with such urge or should i say inkling for suicide. i don't understand why suicide is such a thing with asian horror movies. i heard couple of korean actresses who committed suicide long time ago and one of which was a casts in boys over flower, a korean soap/drama. i don't know why they resort to suicide all the time whilst they could go to a shrink first or something. although, i have a feeling that extreme peer pressure is usually the best impetus for suicide as pictured in their movies. suicide is not a way to address problems as it'll just make things worst for the ones that'll be left behind aside from it'll automatically entitle the person a one way ticket to hell since it's a mortal sin. it's such a selfish act, really.

moving on, i went to the salon this morning and had my hair re-bonded for the 3rd time. it's been 9 months so it's just fair to pamper myself. i went to david's salon and i was told it would cost Php7k. good thing, one of the senior hair stylist assessed my hair and i was then advised it'll only cost Php4,5k. I seriously will not spend that much for my hair, that's just not practical. i was satisfied it did not take so long.

me and my burnt taste buds...

I just came back home last night from an overnight out of town trip in pansol, laguna for a company outing. the place we rented was nice, has a private pool and 3 big air-conditioned rooms with toilet and bath. some of us did not get some sleep since it turned out to be an overnight swimming and karaoke. the pool was really inviting and all i did was dipped my feet and watch the greeneries surrounding the resort. it rained in the afternoon and i even more wanted to go home since i was not supposed to stay long there due to other commitments i have. the overnight stay was like forever.

so good things never last
LITEON 8x external dvd writer
price: P3,600
our HP dvd writer is no good anymore because the lens might've been broken so were left with no choice but to buy a new one. it worked flawlessly as usual, that's how awesome new stuff work when they're new anyways.

moving on, i watched this thai horror flick called 'coming soon.' it wasn't that scary but it's thrilling. you may check out the synopsis here.

i love buko pie (coconut pies) and where else will you find them but laguna, the home of the popular colette's buko pie. i think of laguna every time i think of buko pies.

a tribute to cory...

i was able to catch the necrological mass for cory held at the manila cathedral on tv and as soon as i got home, McDo's mc chicken is waiting for me. my sister ordered it whilst i was on the bus on my way home. whenever i turn on the tv and watch the local news, cory's wake is all over the news. it still makes me teary eyed whenever i see how the filipinos loved cory and united for the very last time to pay homage to her.  she may not be a perfect leader when she was elected president but then, let's not forget the turmoil after the marcos regime. how can you expect a country to be in a spic and span order after martial law? our country back then struggled economically and no president, not even the smartest one, is able to cure an ailing country trying to move on. she was a mother, she gathered the nation and united everyone once and for all thus led to a monumental fragment of our history, the epitome of all edsa revolution. the succeeding edsa revolts were what i consider series of mockery, the country has gained it's democracy and all we filipinos need to do is to nurture it and protect the country from all threats towards our freedom. our forefathers fought for it and hopefully we learn to value the freedom we are all benefit from to date. thus, i salute cory...for her bravery, for being a mother to the nation, for her simplicity and composure amidst all the trials she and her family had been through & for her strong faith in God. so much has been said...but words are not enough for me to express how grateful i am for this freedom. i am proud to say this country fought for it's liberty.

it was a bit drizzling outside on my way to work last monday. although  i was a delighted to see yellow ribbons tied on poles along ayala avenue and banners for cory and ninoy. it's like relieving edsa all over again but this time to unite all filipinos in peace and celebrate the life of cory aquino.  from the 37th floor of RCBC tower 2, i saw down btelow ons of people holding banners and wearing nothing but yellow flooding the streets of ayala. it was so monumental. i was envious when my sister told me she walked along ayala avenue and was lucky enough to see cory's casket. so my only way to commemorate her death is by simply paying homage to cory and used this yellow ribbon on my facebook account as my primary pic and cory's vectorized photo from deviantart for my Friendster profile. the color yellow will always represent CORY!

so long goodbye...

i was appalled after i hear the news this morning that the former president cory aquino already passed away. i'm aware she's been battling with colon cancer since march of last year, however, it felt like a very short period of time. may she rest in peace and see her beloved husband again in the afterlife. she will truly be missed. Cory is our first female President.

The Namesake

i watched The Namesake again in star movies. this is the second time i watched that flick this morning and finally i finished watching it. the last time i watched it, i wasn't able to finish it since the duration of the movie took long so as far as i can remember i did not finish it. although i've always found that it's a nice flick because it's unique. later on i found out that it's actually derived from jhumpa lahiri's best selling novel. no wonder. i watched it in full today with my sisters and we had the same feedback, it is worth watching and even if it was pretty lengh t'was really inspiring

The namesake - Kal Penn, Tabu, Irfan Khan, Jacinda Barrett, Mira Nair

Two worlds. One journey.

The namesake is the story of the Ganguli family whose move from Calcutta to New York evokes a lifelong balancing act to meld to a new world without forgetting the old. Though parents Ashoke (Irfan Khan) and Ashima (Tabu) long for the family and culture that enveloped them in India, they take great pride in the opportunities their sacrifices have afforded their children. Paradoxically, their son Gogol (Kal Penn) is torn between finding his own unique identity without losing his heritage. Even Gogol's name represents the family's journey into the unknown.

relax..see a movie..

i watched harry potter & the half blood prince yesterday despite the stormy weather. it was quite windy outside and it rained hard in the afternoon. it was ok although i was just a bit surprised that the movie ended so soon whilst i thought there was more to come, for all we knew the credits were already scrolling the huge screen, yeah right. i guess it's 'cus it's the final book and it'll be difficult to shrink everything in one movie so the other half would be possibly in a year. i hope so. it was still magical as expected and it's finally established that hermione likes ron weasley and that harry's love interest turned out to be ron's sister, ginny.
had late lunch at Ohana located in Megamall building A.

in this world full of people, how can you be so inhumanly cruel?

i spend my rest day from work home alone today, woke around 9am due to sore throat. i took Virlix (for a allergic rhinitis), 500g amoxicillin and 1 tbsp. Toclase last night so i woke up feeling groggy thus had difficulty standing still then watched 'night at the museum.'  i'm feeling better now hadn't for the depressing stuff i saw on you tube and the local news. i saw a video clip in you tube about female protester/activist in Iran who was shot to death by a sniper. it was SO inhumanly cruel. then came the local news about this woman who was a victim of hit and ran. She was left to die lying in the road, badly hurt hadn't for this teenage guy who witnessed the whole thing and helped her out. he even contacted the woman's relatives. i hope he gets all the GOOD karma there is. it's just frustrating why we call ourselves human beings yet we cannot behave like one.

nostalgia time

i spent almost the entire day yesterday downloading mp3s through frostwire. most of which were music during my highschool and some college days. it's just wonderful to be able to look back and like finding stuff you're looking for in years still stuck in cyberspace. imagine, it's been 14 or 15 years back and those music that you used to listen to still resides somewhere online and all you need is just to surf your heart out and rely on your memory as much as you could.

i'm glad to find my old pinoy rock faves such as agaw agimat's 'kahit na,' 'kisame,' and color it red's 'i need you here' sitting on other people's hard drives perhaps and that they're just generous to share them to those who still remembers.

reminiscing music that you used to listen to and kept you company is like finding a piece or fragment of your past that you've been looking for although you're not aware you've lost it and reconcilling with memories of your adolescence seemed to have patched up one missing fragment of your present. i know it may sound weird but hey back then those were the music that i was not able to really acquire any album copies of since i never got the means or time to go to record stores and buy them so i just got content listening and waiting for airplays. except for color it red's handpainted sky album since me and my sister really took some time getting a copy for keepsakes since it'll definitely be a classic in years to come.

it's such a wonderful feeling to reunite with your old self and music. they never die maybe it's just memory loss that'll kill them.

omigod, i so love wade robson's performance in dancing with the stars! they danced to the tune of 'hi' by this artist called PSAPP. after i watched it i right away looked for the track and i found it and eventually loved the artist and listened to few more tracks. i ended up liking PSAPP to make the long story short :) wade robson is really an awesome dancer.

here's the vid...
