breakfast and coffee..

I woke up early today as usual to cook breakfast for my sister. i chopped the ingredients last night so i won't be chopping early in the morning. i was still groggy but i needed to wake up at 7am or else my sister will need to cook breakfast herself. i'm excited to taste this oatmeal cookies my sister's been raving about since last night. she was right actually, it was really good and much better once paired with 711 coffee.

711's caramel coffee is a cheaper alternative to Starbuck's. What's spending Php35 for a good cup of coffee right? i love breakfast .

i just watched 'the curious case of benjamin button' today. it just finished downloading last nigh and it made me really sleepy.

some time off from work...

boredom is calling so i instead decided to join my colleagues at work and we went to enchanted kingdom. i had a great time although i'm not a very outgoing person and not really into parks, rides and stuff.
i enjoyed anchor's away (although i felt like we'll be thrown out of this planet), carousel, bump car and last but not the least rio grande rapids. i enjoyed rio grande the most because it was crazy. i was drenched.  i thought, i shouldn't stay home during the weekend all the time and i need to get out of the house for a breather.

one thing i was not able to do--i forgot to have picture with Merlin, enchanted kingdom's wizard. damn. before i go home, i bought buko pie and keychains. i was home before 12 midnight, even managed to check my emails and off to slumberland.

home sweet home.

i'm home. my sister told me maybe our mom misses me as well that is why she told her to tell me to go home and i did even if i'm gonna go back to our flat tomorrow. hoho! she cooked adobo for me :) i loved it. nothing beats real food! we had dinner together and i noticed she arranged the fixtures in our house. home sweet home. i have not seen my parents for about a month now if i'm not mistaken that's why i can't blame my dad if he's sulking because we refuse to move up north, live/work there for good. life there is different. leaving your urban lifestyle is like going against the flow.

a thing called claymation dementia

it's annoying, i can't  find any download link for Coraline. I tried couple of download links from torrent but they're both encrypted. i really want to watch that claymation thing. it seems i've scoured all search engines to find the best link but to no avail. it will hit the movie theatres this coming february and i can't wait.

it even took me the whole day remembering the title of that darn flick! i tried cornelia, caroline and whateva! the only piece of detail which helped me remember the title was the black button after the letter 'c.' i tried searching it using tim burton's name, nightmare before christmas...and whaddelse female baby names that starts with the letter 'c.' all of a sudden i tried typing in 2009 and there you go it suddenly popped into my screen this screaming link to Coraline's movie trailer. i found out it was actually a movie adaption of this book by Neil Gaiman and Henry Selick directed the movie.

diet!

i started drinking slimming tea last saturday and i can feel it's working. i  used to take xenical but it was awful. i also tried those chinese diet pills before but ceased taking them as it dries up my throat and give me heart race/palpitations. i don't wanna die from dieting like karen carpenter did and i still believe nothing beats changing your eating habits to lose weight.

moving on, the weather is really cold since the beginning of this month and, according to the weather report today's temperature is at 24ÂșC. i used couple of blankets last night, more so, i can't stand the water from the faucet, it's so damn cold too in the morning.

post new year syndrome...

i woke up one day and told myself i want an ipod to keep me company during my morning commute to work.  so i made my quest and alas i came across this shop called 'pc live' which still sell ipod shuffles. i found it cost more (Php3,900 for a 2GB ipod, 12hours of music) compared online. nevertheless, i still bought couple of them, one for myself and another one for my sister. i took the blue one whilst green for her and as soon as i reached home i loaded my ipod with more than 400 songs. it's just so convenient versus listening to music from my mobile phone.

THE YEAR OF THE OX

THE YEAR OF THE OX
1/26/2009 - 2/13/2010 (Earth)

According to the
Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2009 is the Year of the Ox. The Ox, or the Buffalo sign symbolizes prosperity through fortitude and hard work. Those born under the influence of the Ox or Buffalo are fortunate to be stable and persevering. The typical Ox is a tolerant person with strong character. Not many people could equal the resolution and fearlessness that the Ox exhibits when deciding to accomplish a task. Ox people work hard without complaints at work or at home. They know that they will succeed through hard work and sustained efforts, and do not believe in get-rich-quick schemes.

happy new year!  a lot has happened this year;  i left my job in two years, my sister graduated from law school and took her bar exam, my entire family all moved up north and last but not the least, a new member of the family arrived..baby Gabrielle, my eldest sister's second child and my second niece.

this year is prob'ly the simplest new year i've had here in shaw.  last year's fireworks display were really awesome. other people might've realized they'd rather spend their money in other things than fireworks. we slept past 1am and it's just surprising how fast the sound of fireworks dissipated as if the rest of the world just took the time to welcome the year of the ox and everybody went back to bed afterwards. i have a new journal, we have a new calendar and we hang as soon as the noise outside died down. what more can i say? ei, happy new year. hope it's be better than the last.
