I am not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.

Back on Track

Drive (2011)

Top billed by one of my fave actor Ryan Gosling.

All he did was drive in the movie since it was his job. He was a murderer hiding underneath the veneer of a goody-two-shoes neighbor. It was OK but I was bored because I like fast paced movies and Drive isn't. It was a li’l gruesome as well because of the violence involved in that flick.

The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo (2011)
Stars: Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara and Christopher Plummer

Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander, a young computer hacker.

I definitely loved The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo  it's because I'm a big fan of Stieg Larsson's Millenium Trilogy so I’ve known the story even before I watched it. I think I kind of like Rooney Mara than the previous girl from the other The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo (2009) movie released prior. I liked this movie adaptation really, hats off.

Contagion (2011)
Stars: Matt Damon, Kate Winslet and Jude Law

A thriller about a threat posed by a deadly disease and an international team of doctors contracted by the CDC to deal with the outbreak (as per IMDB).

The movie was also ok. It was interesting although it freaked me out because it can be really scary if ever an outbreak like that would exist.

Harry Potter & the Deathly Hollows II
Stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint

Harry, Ron and Hermione searched for Voldemort's remaining Horcruxes in their effort to destroy the Dark Lord.

It was so action packed and was never boring. I think this is the best HP sequel I've seen. Voldemort's death and peace in the entire Hogwarts is what every HP fan ever wanted. This is the end I guess. Harry married Ron’s sister and Ron married Hermione. The two couples were both blessed with wonderful kids. The movie ended with them accompanying their kids to the train station bound to Hogwarts.

Puss in Boots (2011, Animation)
Stars: Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek and Zach Galifianakis.

A story about the events leading up to the sword fighting cat's meeting with Shrek and his friends. It was cute. Absolutely GP. Drag your family along if you’ll watch Puss in Boots And oh this is something for cat lovers as well.

The Cat (Korean Horror, 2011)

So-Yeon suffers from claustrophobia due to a traumatic incident that occurred to her as a child. So-Yeon is still being treated for her condition to this day. She works as a groomer at a pet shop and one day, a cat named Bidanyi comes into the store. The next day, the owner of Bidanyi is found dead in an elevator. So-Yeon, by request from police officer Joon-Suk, takes the cat home. Shortly after, So-Yeon starts to see a mysterious young girl. She becomes frightened. Then, So-Yeon's good friend Bo-Hee is found dead. Near Bo-Hee, there is a cat which Bo-Hee recently adopted from an animal shelter. So-Yeon now fears for her own life. So-Yeon and Joon-Suk investigate deeper into the mysterious case. There is a hidden story related to the cats.

I like it because I'm a fan of Korean horrors. Their horror movies are interesting because I think they have weird take on stuff like supernaturals and their movies are kind of grotesque. I'm just wondering why cats are always being associated with something evil while they’re such a sweet creature? Anyways, the movie was ok, nothing really special that you can’t afford to miss. The movie was also top billed by this girl from this Korean series City Hunter if you happen to watch that TV series.

Red Riding Hood (2011)
Stars: Amanda Seyfried, Lukas Haas and Gary Oldman

Set in a medieval village that is haunted by a werewolf, a young girl falls for an orphaned woodcutter, much to her family's displeasure.

The movie made sense and I kind of liked it although am not a fan of medieval setting type of flicks. It wasn’t as gothic as the trailer though. Valerie (Amanda Seyfried), found she can hear the thoughts of the wolf that has been plaguing her small village and happens to communicate with her asking her to join him to this place away from the village. She was treated as a witch and later on she realized that there's a wolf blood running in her veins because the killer wolf happened to be her father. Her beloved Peter was bitten by her father thus made him like one. Her love for Peter never faltered until he’s fully turned into a shape shifter wolf himself. -THE END-

It was a love story. That’s all.
