a dose of artistry

nothing or no one can stop my sister and i from exploring the unexplored places in baguio. so, as soon as i saw haring araw peered through the cumulus clouds, i told my sister we must go to tam-awan whilst the weather is ok. however, we put it off since there was a downpour last monday which made our adventure impossible. the weather wasn't perfect at all tuesday morning but, we can't postpone it some again as there's no better time than now. a family acquaintance guided us to tam-awan since she's more familiar with baguio whilst our brother drove us off there.

as soon as i saw the sign that reads tam-awan village, garden in the city, we stopped and bought our tickets for P50 each for adults. we were given maps as well to guide us through whilst roaming around the area. i was personally awed by the bridge and wooden carvings of native igorots. the very first spot caught our eyes which was called 'alang.' i personally loved the ethnic stuff and artworks surrounding the small village. all i thought was how awesome their craftsmanship and creativity was. it made me feel proud belonging to this race of such rich culture and ingenious craftsmanship.

we passed by the portrait sketching area and my sister told me she wants her face drawn by those really skilled artists. i told her to go ahead by she didn't possibly because it's not our nature to be comfortable around people and being watched as well by spectators. we took a lot of photos although the place was not as vast as i expected so you really need to find those good spots for photos sake.

afterwards we were captivated by this place called APO gallery fronting tam-awan village which housed kape diperensya. the coffee house served soya coffee with danish cookies for P85 each. we tried it since we're both curious how soya coffee would taste like. astonished again, the coffee house was really cool surrounded paintings and metal sculptures along with tie-dye curtains and wooden floor. we took off our shoes so as we could have coffee, how cool is that?

we had a li'l chitchat with the owner of the coffee house who happened to be an artist for a cause. he told us how the name 'kape diperensya' came up. he narrated that it started out as a place where people would hang out and have coffee in their place. it all started out as a joke that the coffee doesn't have any problem, it's just the person who makes it who has the 'diperensya.' in english, the coffee maker has a dysfunction. lol. go figure how you will understand that.

outside, the coffee house were sculptures and countless artworks, wooden carvings, etc. we didn't even catch the owner's name but he invited us on their exhibit. he even told us how their team of artist helped street children in selling their own artworks and how it was a huge success. how fascinating to be an artist for a cause.

me and my sister couldn't help but be fascinated by the world music playing on the background whilst having coffee. i don't know any other musicians playing world music aside from pinikpikan but hey they may just be one amongst the many.

sky cable sucks!

my cable provider is been is freaking me out for days now. we've been losing channels and it's getting really annoying. their technical team do not adhere to the scheduled dispatch neither. they just don't value their customer's time. i've made numerous phone calls to them and they're just not helpful at all. i wrote them a complaint via email this morning and i'd be glad to publish that letter on this blog to show the world that skycable sucks big time and future subscribers, beware.

RE: Acct # xxxxxxxxx
To whom it may concern;

I have been losing channels for almost two weeks now and nothing has been done on your part yet to resolve this. I don't believe I am getting the value for my money considering I have been your loyal customer for roughly two years now, never missed a payment, not once. I called your customer service last week to find out what’s going on and was informed that we are losing channels  because of the digitalization  in our area which was launched without prior notice. The installation of your so called digital box was set on April 19, I gave all my contact numbers and have your representative note that they need to call or text me first if they can't come because the last time we had this problem we we’re told by your ever reliable field techs that our cable was just downgraded and our area isn’t covered by digitalization yet so they retracted the information sent to me through mail about installing the digibox a year ago. As expected it was a no call no show for the April 19 tech dispatch like what they usually do. My sister even called twice to confirm the appointment and WAS GIVEN AN ASSURANCE that they will definitely come even if your phone representatives do not have ways of communicating with your field techs and shouldn’t have promised in the first place. I called two days ago again to complain about such inconvenience on our part just and was told that your dispatch team's car broke down. Again, no one bothered to inform us about what happened and thus I waited all day long for nothing. My sister again spent and wasted her whole day yesterday. What's even more unacceptable, my sister cancelled all her appointments for nothing. My sister and I are basically taking in turns amidst our busy work schedules waiting for your dispatch team but time and again no phone call nor any word advising us no one will show up. I don’t deserve this, I am such a good customer of yours. You guys are very quick when it comes to installing services to new customers but when it comes to maintenance issues, you guys aren't helpful. I bet those who are not even legally subscribe to your service are getting more channels. You’re field techs will come by whenever they like and then report to your good office that no one's around during their time of visit! But of course, they don't know how to adhere with the schedule set by the client what to expect? What’s the point of scheduling an appointment if you don’t care about your customers availability nor what's convenient for them? This is the worst treatment I have ever received from a service provider.

the heat is a killer...

had kwek-kwek today and it's
so goo!d
my eldest sister paid us a visit along with our nieces, one's 12 and the other just turned 1 year old last february. time flies as i always say, the last time i saw her she was still on a walker. now, she could walk on her own and barely need assistance. she seemed like a fast learner. i told my other sister that she's a visual learner since once you point things out to her in a bit she'll learn it. kids today are getting smarter compared to our generation or should i say it's the food they eat nowadays,  the formula or something?? i spent my entire good friday, black saturday and easter sunday at home. i tried keeping myself busy. i'm like so freakin' bored and i just can't be stagnant in a corner. my sister even told me every time she see me i must be doing something, pacing around, busy scavenging, rummaging or whatever. i read through our old collection of magazines, skim through pages of photo albums or fix things such as my sister's shoes. i tried putting them back together, i glued  every shoes that needs to be glue-ing.

i sat on the garage with moonie the cat whilst waiting for the whole family coming home from the north. i let the cat take a nap on my lap (oh wow that rhymed) i'm just fascinated moonie because it's been years since i had a cat. i love cats. they're just so laid back sit on your lap whenever they want to.

colds sucks!

i'm all busy today. i just finished the laundry and all. today's my rest day from work and thank God i have time to rest. i don't feel well yesterday due to colds. that's what i hate about how abnormal the weather is lately. it's summer yet it's raining in the afternoon. i did not use my umbrella on my way home after work last tuesday so, come wednesday afternoon, i caught a cold bug. i shrugged it off at first but it worsened due to the cold a/c in the office yesterday. sucks. i took Sinupret wednesday night, but it did not help. if a cold is coming, it's pretty irrevocable. good thing, i still have a bottle of Toclase for my cough. medicines are quite expensive so you need to stock up whenever you can because getting sick is always inevitable as much as you hate it.
as a result i avoided anything cold and fast food. anyways, moving on, i'm a bit better now. i watched another thai horror flick last night with my sister called 'the spiritual world.' i was disappointed really, i thought it's something else because i was deceived by the movie poster. i don't believe they picked the right title for it because if i could re-title it i would prefer 'dementia.' call all the characters psycho, demented, schizophrenic. it did not make sense at all seriously. it was disgusting because the story lasted like couple of hours yet did not make any sense.

better off

on my way home, a guy in business attire all of a sudden left his seat then started preaching and distributing letter envelopes (for donations purposes) to people. he claimed he belong to some religious organization. i have no problem with that except we don't know how legit they are. i mean, there's always a better way to generate income than beg. i think, i would prefer to see people who belong to what we call the 'underground economy' selling cigarettes or rugs in the street that hand out envelopes to people for donations.
