movies & pizza

movie day today with my sister. she brought home 711'S Banana Cappuccino and blue jack n' jill chippy! however, i found 711's banana cap too sweet and i think it tastes weird for a coffee lol. i think i'll just stick to their usual caramel or cappuccino coffee.

2012.
it was disastrous. i couldn't endure watching a full length film about apocalypse or doom's day. i did not enjoy the movie but kudos to the special effects. well done.

Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) which was about a highschool boy who happened to be the son of greek god Poseidon. the poor boy was accused of stealing the lightning bolt.

last but not the least, zombieland! the movie made us scream. that's what i hate about zombie movies, they make me scream. well, the movie was about 4 strangers who met by fate, they went into a road trip in search of zombie free areas. for a li'l summary  courtesy of Wikipedia. College student Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) is on his way to Columbus, Ohio to see if his parents are still alive. He loses his car in an accident and encounters Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) who is on a quest to find Twinkies. They travel together and when they stop at a grocery store, they meet two sisters, Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin). The sisters con them into handing over their weapons and steal their vehicle. The two men walk and soon find a truck loaded with weapons. They then meet the girls again, who attempt to take the truck, their vehicle having broken down. Columbus proposes a truce and suggests they travel together.

what made movie watching enjoyable? a box of shakey's manager's choice thin crust pizza! yum :)) don't eat it when it's cold by the way. good thing shakey's accepts visa. omg. why is resident evil: extinction on star movies again? it's one of my fave? right. i know i'll be watching it again for the nth time.

uh-oh, why is everything moving?

i'm scared of earthquakes i admit. aside from big, hairy spiders and flying roaches, my greatest fear is earthquake. i hate being on towering buildings once an earthquake triggers. i feel like there's nowhere to run. once it happened you just need to endure it and pray to god you will still be alive tomorrow and thereafter. A 6.2 magnitude quake hit manila about 2pm today, yeah, unfortunately the fear of my life happened. i was at work sitting in my desk when the building shook for seconds which seemed forever. i've experienced a lot of mild trauma due to earthquakes and why am i always working on towering buildings every time an earthquake happens? shit.

my new friends are here! they were shipped last tuesday and t'was fast! i bough them all from estrellas manila. i got the tracking # monday and i got my order the next day. awesome. i love them and am looking forward to ordering more or should i say collect more lol.

avatar

i'm not feeling good since friday athough i'm a bit better now. i even managed to go boxing despite my running nose. i ordered couple of cocktail ring online then paid through Gcash. i read that, i need to bring a photocopy of my ID and bring one as well to pay through Gcash from an outlet (it was pawnshop close to where i live) i dropped off the payment and after few seconds i received an sms from the merchant. i can't wait! do check out this website, you can find a lot of good finds here estrellasaccessories.multiply.com.

i just watched AVATAR and decided to add to this blog. i thought it was really long and didn't make sense the first time i watched it aboard a bus bound to manila after my week long christmas vacation in up north last december. i didn't realize the movie was quite lenghty. as far as i understand, the movie was basically about a paraphlegic marine sent out on a mission because his scientist twin brother died right before the mission started thus made the force to send him instead since their genes are identical.
jake sully (played by sam worthington) took the place of his brother, lived in two worlds--his paraphlegic self and his avatar who later on fell in love with his mentor in pandora named neytiri (zoe zaldana). jake realized the weight of the mission which is to completely devastate pandora and kill all it's inhabitants (the na'vis) just to take this very previous mineral called unobtanium which will cost millions of dollars and will further future scientific missions. the moral of the story? respect for territories and all living creatures. it should've been called avarice not avatar. lol.

a week of movies and all

marley & me

the story is about the pains and difficulties of starting a family in between jobs and having kids. the movie made me really sad because i know how painful it is be apart from a long time family pet. i hate sad endings though.

re-cycle

from the maker of the eye (hong kong), the pang brothers. the movie is about abortion. the main character, Ting-yin, is a love story novelist turned into scary story writer. whilst working on her latest epic Recycle, Ting-yin began experiencing weird things in her apartment, the story she's been writing is beginning to come to life. Later on Ting-yin found herself in a different dimension, a universe where all rubbish end up. Ting-yin met her (long lost) daughter in that dimension, the little girl she chose to give up through abortion because of a failed relationship, she had remorse though.

alice in wonderland
went to the movie theatre today to watch alice in wonderland.  we found the movie lengthy and yes the element of surrealism and goth is still present as expected because it's another tom burton movie. i was fascinated with the dark theme which made it the not-your-typical alice in wonderland story you read in children's books.
