if you're burn out....watch more & more movies!

May (2002)

i can't help but watch MAY over and over every time i test all the movie discs we just finished burning, it's so queer. jeremy sisto is the cool weirded out kind guy in this flick. i actually checked out some of his old movies as far back as 2005 and i think he's really hot with his scruffy hair.

Final destination 4 (2009)
(Suspense/Thriller)

i finished watching final destination 4 last night no matter how late because it was so effin thrilling except the gore. i love horror/suspense movies but the non-stop violence and human body parts cutting, blood squirting, and internal organs scattering  kind of freaked me out. i liked the movie though, i may not be a fan of morbid flicks but i'd rather watch stuff like that than get bored with experimental flicks such as rob zombie's House of 1000 Corpses.

Crazy Beautiful (2001)
(Romance)

bad girl kirsten met 'straight A ' guy jay whilst doing community service for DUI in this local beach. the two go to the same high school and became attracted to each other although they don't share the same beliefs in life . kirsten, became a troubled child after the death/suicide of her mom and his father remarried years later. she led a crazy life partying and cutting classes while jay couldn't keep up with her lifestyle. jay later on decided to give up his life and live with kirsten because the two fell in love obviously. eventually, kirsten realized she need to change for him and begin straightening out her mistakes. it was a happy ending though, jay got into aviation school to become a pilot (with the help of kirsten's dad) whilst kirsten stood by him and revived her dying relationship with her dad. nice one but am just not a big fan of romantic drama flicks so i was bored.

one hell of a week again in the office and i'm exhausted hadn't for payday. my only cure for burn out is shopping. i bought myself this lipstick from Skinfood™ for a hefty Php900 plus. a workmate then gave me this her Elf™ chocolate flavoured lipgloss and yeah it does taste like chocolate.

weekend going ons

i went boxing this morning, my 18th boxing session. my sister and i decided to try a different Elorde Gym for a change and it was good because it's close to our place. moving on, i watched couple of flicks today.  the first one, a psychological horror indie film called May.

May (2002)

this is not the first time i watched May because i've seen it before in cable TV. the story is about a veterinarian's assistant named May who had an eccentric childhood. she had no friends when she was growing up except for a creepy porcelain doll her mom made for her as a birthday present. it has big blue starry eyes as if peering through your soul if you stare at it. May's a talented seamstress though since she sew her own clothes. Now an adult, May has weird fascination/fetish for 'beautiful body parts.' She got obsessed with a good looking guy named Adam, a car mechanic, who happened to have strong liking for eccentric stuff as well. May specifically got obsessed with Adam's hands in a very freaky way. Adam, being the nice guy, at first tried to be so nice with May but as they went along May showed a lot of psychotic antics which later Adam found a turn off thus he avoided May. May got involved with a lesbian colleague at work whom she thought showed real feelings and care for her and later on found also cheated on her. May in the end decided if she can't make real friends she'd rather create one herself. she butchered Adam's hand and handsewn it along with the rest of the 'beautiful parts' she chopped (how gruesome is that?) last but not least, she pulled out her own left eyeball with a pair of scissors so that her 'new friend' could see her. i liked May's character and her being eccentric however she's mentally deranged man. the movie though did not enjoy commercial success. well, that's sad because it's one of my fave movies of all time. maybe few people dig 'weird stuff.' anyways, here's the movie trailer i rummaged from youtube. see for yourself. the movie is way better than the trailer by the way.

Alice in Wonderland (2010), watching it with SRT is way better than the big screen. i finally understood the movie better. lol.

gadh. i still love static & silence (1997) by the sundays. it never cease to mesmerize every time i listen to it.

dementia

i started my movie weekend with oliver stone's natural born killers (1994) as soon as i got home whilst having my chicken sandwich and this 32oz. gulp red tea (which i was forced to purchase instead of 711's 22oz because they don't have a lid for the smaller cup)  and yes it was psycho thriller flick. the first time i watched natural born killers was back in college, in Film class. we were required to watch the movie to sort of dissect it. true enough, amidst the morbid stuff, it was an art film. it wasn't just an ordinary film.

cinderella and yoga

Time for some asian horror flick. This time, let's go to Korea...

Cinderella (2006 film)

an orphan child was illegally adopted after the original Hyeon-su suffered fatal burns and disfigurement  due to a car accident when she was still alive so her face could be used to treat the now disfigured Hyeon-su. The orphan loved the woman who adopted her (and even called her "mother") very much but, after the original Hyeon-su began to recover, the mother did an operation to have the orphaned girl's face cut off and attached to the real daughter. The real Hyeon-su, having no memory of the incident, was spoiled by her mother while the faceless orphaned girl was kept in the basement, saddened by her so called mother's treatment committed suicide and became a vengeful ghost which now begins to haunt  Hyeon-su. Parallelism: Cinderella was also maltreated by her step mother and was locked away in her room.

Yoga (Movie - 2009)

Synopsis

A confident and enthusiastic woman, Hyo-jung visits a mysterious yoga institute run by an ex-actress where her radically changed friend told her to go. At the intensive training course, a young yoga master named nani explains to Hyo-jung and four other girls that only one person who masters the course successfully could get the secret to ultimate and immortal beauty. there are five rules for them to follow during the one week course:

1. do not eat
2. no shower an hour after the class
3. do not look at the mirror
4. do not go out of the building
5. do not call anyone.

As the training went on, the girls were tempted to break the rules one by one as if hypnotized by unexplained forces. Hyo-jung  was the first to sense that there is something odd about the yoga until things got weirder and weirder--all the rest of them mysteriously disappeared. the ending was even weirder,  they all got what they wanted which was nothing but beauty.

rock the vote!

election day! it's a holiday but i have work today since national events like today is just for regular jobs. for BPO companies, we could care less. well, even if i can vote for instance i don't think half of the day would be enough to accommodate all voters. as per news, people still clamour to their local precincts to vote and still weren't able to do so. i think, this is by far the most peaceful election because it's automated and let's face it, it's already the age of cyberspace yet many filipinos are still scared of computers and or anything that has something to do with it even if supervised. i completely understand, our country would still prefer stuff through snail mails than emails. i feel like i lost part of my being a filipino citizen because i failed to exercise my right to vote. i'm hoping this election would be as neat as possible. i mean, may the best candidate win.
