flick picks

i hate mondays because i know it's gonna be another long week ahead hadn't for my vacation leave next week then i would not have any reason to be excited lol. i was so busy that i haven't blogged about the recent movies i've watched for the past couple of weeks (i think). these movies kept me busy so here's just a rundown.

  • sherlock holmes (2009) - i like mind boggling flicks.  the movie is fast paced that if you missed one part you'll be completely lost. all i knew myself is that sherlock is a clever and eccentric detective. for synopsis here's wiki.
  • paranormal activity - what can i say? you know this kind of movie isn't really believable to con me into the whole ghost phenomenon showcased on this darn flick, duh? the casts were too good to become real life people too. this flick reminds me my of my college days back with mass media, just pick a video recorder and pick some actors and there ya go, a movie! no sweat.

  • just married - top billed by stars ashton kutcher & brittany murphy. just married is a movie about a couple who instantly fell in love and impulsively got married without even knowing each other too well. the woman is a rich, daddy's favourite girl whilst the man, a struggling traffic-caster who works for a local radio station & doesn't have a regular job. the two headed to europe for their honeymoon. something went awry during the honeymoon which turned the trip into a disaster, the two split up on their way home. to make the long story short, the couple got back together. again FIN.
  • the reader (2008) - this is one of my fave. there lots of explicit scenes though so it's really intended for mature audience. the movie is about a young fifteen year old frail boy (david kross) named michael berg, who's from an affluent family.  david fell in love with an illiterate older woman named helen  smith (kate winslet). david however is unaware helen couldn't read. their love affair ended when helen left her apartment and david never saw her again. david saw helen again after so many years in court, on trial for conniving with the nazis. helen was convicted because she signed a very crucial document which even more proved her involvement with the nazis because she couldn't read.
  • new in town -  lucy hill (Renée Zellweger) an executive in Miami was sent to restructure a manufacturing plant in Minnesota. lucy met (Harry Connick Jr.) Ted Mitchell, a union representative and single Dad who lives with his teenage daughter. Onset, Lucy and Ted will not get along due to principle differences. Lucy only care about promotion whilst Ted about the welfare of all the employee who works for the plant. During Lucy's stay in Minnesota, she learned the plight of the workers and realized what she has become. In the end, lucy became the voice of the people, fell in love with Ted and it was a happy ending.
