it's the time of the year...

The Lenten season is the time of the year to reflect and recollect. i know a lot of people take advantage of the season and go to boracay or plan their summer getaway instead which contradicts the real meaning of lenten season.

Lent, in Catholic tradition, is the period of the liturgical year leading up to Easter. The traditional purpose of Lent is the preparation of the believer — through prayer, penitence, almsgiving and self-denial — for the annual commemoration during Holy Week of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, which recalls the events linked to the Passion of Christ and culminates in Easter, the celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

and for myself, i'd rather watch movies than go somewhere faraway.


he's just not into you

based on the book of the same name by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo. he's just not into you consist of four love stories wherein each of the characters is in some way related to other. it was really fun to watch because it's pretty interesting. it was just about how to gauge if a guy is interested or serious with a girl sort of stuff.

splinter

i like suspense thrillers but this one bored the hell out of me that i was tempted to just push the forward button on and get it over and done with. the movie started with a couple celebrating their anniversary, unable to build their tent just decided to head off to a cheap motel instead of camping. along the road the couple encountered a man and a woman who both appeared pale and sick suddenly car-jacked them. splinter is about an organism with spikes which only thrive in hot temperature. it also has the capacity to kill just about any living being. it was seriously nonsense.


down to you

t'was a love story, freddie met julia stiles (who's so much younger then) during his sophomore year in college whilst julia's a freshman. julia wasn't supposed to have a boyfriend because she's been through a lot of relationships. she was the artsy gal whilst fred, the son of a famous chef/celebrity cook. the two became madly in love until they realized the big responsibility of having a child after a false alarm about julia's pregnancy. the couple after the distance (in the middle of things freddie attempted to commit suicide by drinking shampoo) then realized they're really made for each other. the two reunited. the end.
