Be Etsy

Things got pretty busy lately due to Pope St. Francis' arrival few days back.

It's been ages since the last Papal visit which was way back 1995, I was in Junior High then. It's just really touching to see how unwavering our faith is despite all the calamities that marred our country over the past years. Our faith is strong no matter what and we can afford to smile and face another day even if our hearts are bleeding after the loss of loved ones due to those havoc.

Moving on, I am pretty busy lately with my diy projects. I have been browsing Pinterest a lot thus I was inspired to come up with my own projects at home during my days off from work.

I started off with my chalkboard label project using improvised stuff like this black cartolina and real dusty chalks.

I created labels for kitchen spices first then I got bored because It's really hard using chalk as you're supposed to use a chalkboard marker especially made for chalkboard labels because you can't erase them as opposed to chalk of course.

So, I moved on to washi tapes! I started washifying everything around from mobile phone chargers, tin cans, keys, my company ID to Instax mini photos.

I was really ecstatic when I saw the finished products. They looked awesome. I bought my washi tapes by the way from SM--school supplies section (gift/scrapbook supplies area). I went gaga over washi tapes when I found them, it's like finding a gem after rummaging through tons of whatever. I know I may be overacting a bit but seriously here where I am based, there's very limited choices to almost everything that's why I would normally suit myself doing some online shopping. I felt so stuck until I saw they have quite a wide array of choices when it comes to washi tape designs although not as much online of course.

I am so into DIY etsy projects lately to kill time and boredom. When the weather gets this cold my oh my keep yourself moving or you'll end up sleeping the day away, binging and yes gain weight.

I am obsessed with being productive because I only have two days off from work so might as well make the most of it.

I am planning to collect these washi tape babies then next would be DIY projects involving jute twine, mason jar photo frames, doillies. I am looking forward to payday 'cuz my sissy and I are both into purchasing cozies for our salad mason jars! I'll blog about it once accomplished. So happy.

Let those creative juice flow...

Androidify

Dodol theme
I am a happy android user since I discovered how customizable Samsung phones are nowadays. Back during my Samsung Star phone days we don't have the Playstore yet where we get to download almost every stuff you need for your android phone as oppose to now.

I used to be an iPhone fan and user and I thought iPhones are good for business people because you couldn't really do much to it than purchase apps from itunes store but no option to download themes for your iPhone's interface. With android, you have so many things to get stoked about like customizable themes both for your mobile interface, lock screen and my favorite themed sms box and changeable fonts for your phone! I am addicted to themes even before the now defunct nokia days. I download themes from third party webbies like Mobile 8, Zedge etcetera.

The good thing about android is that as long as you download stuff from Playstore you need not worry about catching a malware or virus to seep through your phones drive unlike with Nokia back then if you're not going to download an antivirus for your phone then goodluck.

Going back, to all you folks who happen to read this blog if you happen to be fickle minded and love to change things every now and then, then adroid is the phone for you. Well, not just Samsung per se since there are tons of android phones that spawned out there in such a short period of time and for all we know Apple users will be switching like I did. I think Apple should be a little more generous and stop keeping some apps to themselves thus the advent of jailbreaking.

Go Launcher Theme
For newbie android users here are the must haves to start customizing your mobile phones.

Theme Launchers

There are tons of awesome theme launchers for android such as Go Launcher, Apex, Nova, Dodol to name a few. Go Launcher is the raddest interface wise because of the 3D apps and sleek look. I just noticed the lag time whenever you unlock your phone to access other apps plus it sucks your phone's battery no matter how I turn off all the apps running in the background.

So, to make the long story short I went back to my original theme launcher Dodol. I know the name sounds odd but this launcher is efficient and no lag time in accessing your other apps although the themes are not as nice as Go Launcher. But, nevertheless Dodol also has a lot of customizable themes once installed it will give you the flexibility to use one themes icons, wallpapers and what not.

Sample Go Locker Theme

Locker Themes

wide array of themes
both free/paid to choose from
To simplify it's your phones lock screen that's it. It sounds complicated at first especially if you're the person who always look at the big picture all the time that you get to overlook the simple things like this that if you only read the clue word 'lock' it should've been simple lol. Between Dodol locker and Go Locker I should say the later wins. Go Locker themes are awesome and mostly animated which even more fascinated me. Yes, these stuff are my guilty pleasures. It brings out the kid in me and my endless love for anything digital.

Go SMS

A sample of GO SMS
theme for your text box.
this theme is not free by the
way, you can only use GetJar
coins of pay for it.
Last but not least my fave Go SMS. Thank God for themed SMS /text box! Iphone bored me hadn't for the emojis and got envious with android users when I found that they have this customizable sms boxes. I just love this app. I always thought there's a solution for boringtext messaging experience. Go SMS is of course free same goes with its relatives Go Launcher, Go Locker and any app with 'Go' on it.

GetJar

This is android's way to con people to download their other apps why? It's cuz whenever you find a really cute but not free Go SMS/Launcher theme could use the points that your gonna earn from downloading these other not so useful apps instead of spending money for it which I used to do because I just recently figured out how this whole GetJar thingy work. It so happened that I was just so squeamish to try out the darn themes geez. Piece of advise? Don't spend a dime for this hobby :D

To wrap this blog up, if IOS is boring you go Android ,cuz I was a happy camper since I switched plus there are lots of affordable yet multimedia android phones anyways right?

New Beginnings

Back to the world again. I was all gloomy over the holidays because I needed to control my diet to avoid the holiday weight gain and yeah I know how ridiculous it sounds but If I don't, I'll freakin' balloon. It sucks to be Hypothyroid for life geez. I am kind of happy though because I felt I lost weight after drinking nothing but fruit smoothies and crackers during my break time at work, salad in a mason jar for lunch. It's a struggle to ignore my cravings but the result is stunning. No sweets for now, no rice except  (brown or red) and to go easy on bread for as much as possible.

New Year, New Life.
I don't normally believe in new years resolution but I guess it won't hurt to at least set some rules to live by. So what's my new year's resolutions then? First,  to lose weight further the healthy way by exercising (walking instead of taking the cab, eat more veggies and fruits and ditch if not totally eradicate those junk food and sugar. Second, travel cheap as it helps enrich my soul and third, find better job opportunities somewhere to sustain my plans of living healthy and travel (i hope). Living healthy is pricey because of the cost of organic buys out there. Brown rice is not cheap and so as the 'non-fat' products, wheat breads and all.

Moving on, It's time to pay off everything I spent during the holiday season so I'm back to working regular hours and counting how much to shell off for my credit card bills. I love to spend yet it's such a pain to pay them all off but whaddaheck I am a responsible person. To start off the year I bought myself this cute rock cat power bank 5000 mah online to address my phone's battery issues. It's really not my phone but my usage, I am online most of the time thus explains why my phone's battery life won't last long. My new power bank is so rad that it seems to be watching me as it charges haha! Let me just share how it works, the light flickers red once it's almost empty, orange when it's close to being empty whilst green once fully charged. So stoked by my new power bank right now.

I also bought this cute cat coin purse (yes I am a cat person) from the same online seller where I got my power bank from and It helps whenever I miss my cat which I only get to see during my rest days from work. My cat is with my parents 'cuz my sister and live in an apartment somewhat close to work. We both own and care for our cat (handles the vet bills, cat food etc) we just don't want our cat unsupervised whilst we are at work especially now he already lost his tail more than a year ago.
"soul brothers" until he started munching...

Artsy Places.

My sissy and I both love hanging out in artsy and not so crowded places. Those wherein you only get to know by research and blogs from people who have been there. Not to mention we are very particular with what's on the menu given the fact that we already both started living healthy years back the place must serve foods that are delectable and healthy at the same time.

We visited Ili-Likha Artist Village few days back after having read it on blogs that the resto serves healthy foods and the idea spawned from the same people behind Oh My Gulay thus explains the eccentric pieces of art adorning the place. My sister and I had their Chia Tea (yes with chia seeds) and their Ches Cake. It really is called Ches cake by the way as it's a cheese cake. It was good. The tea was not too sweet and same goes with the cheese cake.

We met a feline friend, their resident cat who's been begging us for cheese cake (who says cats don't have sweet tooth e?) I gave her a tiny chunk and told her she can't have no more because it's not healthy both humans and animals as its high on calories. She left after getting bored then came back to play with my backpack's key chains! Some cats are playful while some love to sleep wayyy too much than play.

We named her 'Iluya' from the name of the place 'Ili-Likha' and 'Luya' which is a Tagalog for Ginger and orange tabby cats are called 'Ginger.' We'll try their brown rice meals one of these days or whenever we have the time.

Happy Sheep!

Happy Year of the Sheep/Ram/Goat! I hope 2015 would be a good year for everyone. This is my first post for 2015 btw!

I have been extremely busy after discovering GoLauncher for my Samsung. I have been using Dodol Launcher since I switched to android from ios half a year ago. Let's just say that I had all the time in the world over the holidays to twitch my phone's interface so I decided to download Go Launcher.

I was so fascinated by GO at first and the more after I paired it up with its very own lock screen app called Go Locker. I was so happy that I deleted all my Dodol Launcher files because I found Go Launcher's interface so 3D compared to Dodol UNTIL just recently that I noticed how fast my battery drains! I even downloaded this sweeper app to clear up all apps running in the background that might've been draining out my phone but to no avail it didn't help! I blamed the cute lock screen then since I read from forums that the more Go Apps installed, the more the battery drains fast.

I gave up so I decided to go back to Dodol Theme Launcher instead and to dissipate my disappointment, I decided to pair it up then with Dodol Locker. It wasn't as pretty as Go Launcher but I wouldn't sacrifice my phone's battery life for aesthetics. Beauty always has its price.

Dodol is not so bad really as it has more downloadable free themes compared to Go Launcher.

Nuff of the tech savvy me side..

What can I say? Happy New Year once again! Waz my New Year's resolutions (Yes it is plural)? Eat more healthy foods, travel more, read more, discover. I wish to turn my life around this year for the better. I am so yearning to travel and to do some more soul searching. Life oh life.
