wind of change

my body hurts. i had my fifth boxing  session yesterday whilst my sister is already on her 8th session. i'm so behind. i guess i just don't have the same motivation like hers to go boxing that frequent.
my sight was all blurry again yesterday and i felt i will pass out anytime. moving on, i woke up real early so i could catch up with my supposedly 8am boxing time. i arrived at the the boxing gym at almost 9am, which was late since last saturday i was there 8am   on the dot. good news, i lost 5 kilos or was it because i have not been eating a lot lately? as i am writing this, my body is really sore and i need to keep on stretching and possibly try some air boxing to ease the pain. but hey, i found out that my arms are getting toned.

i bought myself this tumbler that i'll be using for my work out and i love it as it has a rubber straw which will make it easier for me to drink water without the need to take off my gloves whenever i'm boxing.

here goes aussie day! hola...

i was so sleepy at work today.  it's very timely i came across this article in yahoo about sleeping anxieties. tomorrow's aussie day so we don't have work. anyways, i think i'm this close calling this blog a movie blog as i have written numerous stuff about movies lol. i watched 'million dollar baby' yesterday. back to boxing again. my sister got her hand wrap from toby's in robinson's galleria for P135 while mine was P600 from sportshouse, was it more pricey because of the brand?

looking back, after scouring the whole 3rd floor of galleria (where the sport shops are, name
it!) we landed in kenny rogers for a late lunch. i couldn't forget their 'healthy plate' for a hefty $175. it's combination of quarter roasted chicken + salad + chunk of fruits + muffin and kenny light iced tea. i tried finishing my plate as much as i could but because i've been spending so much time on it i placed some of the fruits and half of the muffin to my sisters finished plate lol.

going back to the movie 'million dollar baby,' i didn't like it that much due to the sad ending. i hate sad endings and heart wrenching stories. yeah, t'was inspirational in a sense that there's nothing impossible if you're driven. hilary's masculine physique made her really apt for the film. she's really convincing to play the role of a female boxer.

changeling--the movie

setting : 1920's

the story was also about a mother's struggle and quest to find her beloved son (with the help of a minister and people picketing against the LA police) and battle against unscrupulous L.A police force. i liked the movie simply because it was straightforward and nicely executed. i was enraged how human rights violation was at it's worst during that time. how, a frail woman of middle class was badly treated just to close a case which was never resolved in the first place. christine collins was forced to accept that her long lost son was found and that she was 'dillusional' for not recognizing her own child. the poor woman was sent to a mental asylum under code 12 (women with cases against the L.A police force are thrown to the facility to keep their mouths shut) when she turned to the media and raised her issue it eventually caused scandal among the L.A police force and completely ravaged their credibility as law enforcers. her fight against the police force was painstakingly long and almost endless  as it went  on for almost a decade hadn't for the support of the church and those people who cared about her. the police tried to ruin her credibility as a mother by simply making her appear mentally ill publicly. what can a single mother do against the government  who won't even issue a warrant and just sends an individual to a mental asylum to cover up lies they themselves threaded? the negligence on the police force's end eventually resulted to the death of the 'real' walter collins under the hands of a mentally deranged killer. overall, justice was served--the murderer was executed and the chief of police alongside with the ruthless police inspector were fired for the crime they both tried to conceal. this story isn't new.  this movie is really worth watching.

i decided not to go boxing today to save me from waking up early, hey it's a sunday!

the weekend, etc...

It's my rest day finally. the week seemed so long (sigh) and my early morning schedule is killing me. i hate waking up early in the morning whilst it's still dark outside. the morning sunshine wake me up.

anyways, moving on, it's my 4th boxing session and i'm really hesitant all the time because i'm too lazy to get up. but, after boxing, my apprehension often wane out. it's really good for the body to work out and sweat a lot as it means you're releasing toxins, burn some those calories away. the last time i stepped on the weighing scale i lost 3 kilos. On a normal basis, i weigh 60 kilos, i kind of doubt it but if that's what the weighing scale says then, well and good. i like boxing on a saturday. early saturday morning around 8-8:30 am because i don't tire easily for some reason as oppose to boxing late like around 10 am onwards since the heat of the sun is still not that scorching and after my boxing session (i get home at 10 am) i still get to do a lot of household chores.  enough about my boxing routine.

change topic. this whole jason ivler case created a fuss lately. the guy is from a family of celebrities and he's got an unbelievable involvement with murder cases. The first is with a malacanang undersecretary (or might be a son of an undersecretary, i'm not quite sure) due to traffic altercations and i can't recall the second murder rap against him. the worst part is, all of his kins (of course) thinks he's innocent and he's such a good natured boy. two murder cases isn't a coincidence. i just can't believe how a mother could lead her child more astray than correct his wrong doings. Maybe it's guilt for not raising a law abiding child. i hope justice will prevail and not become favourable to affluent people.

k-pop!

i came across this korean store in edsa central (my pathway to get rid of the sun's scorching rays) called 'young art.' i found myself looking for a journal to keep tabs of everything. i bought this cute journal for P65 and the girl on the counter is also korean. the store is selling pretty interesting items.

another day in the hospital...

my sister just underwent her very first major surgery--to completely remove her gall bladder as it's beyond save-able due to the already hardened gall stone residing on her gall bladder. an operation is always scary as it puts your foot on the pit. i saw how my mom's heart sank upon seeing my sister brought back from the recovery room. a mother will always feel pain for her child even if she's adult enough to fend for herself.

we decided not to go boxing today as the day is too short for everything. we left shaw early and headed off to the hospital and arrived by lunchtime. our mom was the only person around and i liked my sister's hospital suite in st. vincent (marikina). it was really cozy and that there's this retractable door that you can close so the patient could care for some rest while there are visitors outside. he fridge and the restroom is nice as well. i like being in a hospital, it's just peaceful and calm there. but the thought of bringing someone there due to an illness or operation is something that's hard to endure. the family was complete except for our brother. even our youngest niece played around the suite.it was a frenzy!

we had some tuna pie and food to go, lechon paksiw which is way expensive (buy 1 take one??? duh.) we also bought our sister this mango roll c/o of the nearets red ribbon bake shop around. i know my sister will love that as soon as she's well enough to eat. she went out of the hospital monday afternoon. mom said my sister hated staying there since it's too uncomfortable for her to pee.

nothing is constant...

my elder sister who's now 32 will undergo her first major operation to rid off her now enlarged gall bladder. upon research i found that, the gall bladder is an organ the human body can live without because it's role is to merely digest fats. any operation concerns me because anything could go wrong. my sister is someone who's very sensitive to pain, she even hates to be tickled. she's been the sickly type since childhood and she had two typhoid fevers when she was a child, an ulcer, ear problem, to name a few. i'm just upset because the doctors who diagnosed her failed short hadn't for the last one who suggested she go for an ultrasound. my sister's been enduring excruciating abdominal pains, hard core pain relievers were prescribed but to no avail until the recent ultrasound showed  the need for an urgent operation due to her now inflamed gall bladder. her gall bladder is now double the size of a normal gall bladder thus must be operated a.s.a.p.
the operation was scheduled tomorrow at 8am and i'm crossing my fingers, hopefully all goes well because it'll be an open cholecystectomy.

how to upload xml templates in blogger

i was so busy last night changing my blogger template/skin. i found this site with tons os awesome blogger layouts btemplates.com . the only difficulty i had was it took me forever just to figure out how to upload .xml in blogger. the stuff i even researched only did  not even mention that you need to work things around to get to this and that. arrrgh!

ok, here's the deal, in order to upload .xml blogger templates this is the step you need to follow (i created this comprehensive instruction but make it a point first to save the .xml file you downloaded to your computer's hard drive) :

1. go to dashboard
2. click on layout
3. click upgrade template (pick one blogger template and once selected you will be  redirected to a page wherein you will find page elements, fonts & color etc...
4. click on edit html (from there you will find Upload a template from a file on your hard drive---you may then select the .xml file to stored on your PC's hard drive).

i hope this'll help unlike the instructions i got from the forums, they basically missed out the most important part--how to find the field which would allow you to upload the .xml file. i thought at first it has something to do with the Blogger version that i'm using but heck, i found that Blogger don't have any other version lol. to make the long story short, i'm happy with my new blog skin, the layout is so clean and is really intended for blogspot.

no pain, no glory

my muscles are still sore. it's only been my second boxing session since i started last thursday because of my sister's persistent pleading. nonetheless, i feel like walking in the wind since i feel so light after boxing plus. at the boxing gym, nobody really cares if you don;t know how to use the jumping rope or use the speed bag. i learned quite a few new terminologies because of boxing such as jab, straight and upper cut lol. i think i can do boxing at least once or twice a week or whenever i get the chance. let's just say i'm pretty tired taking diet teas which do nothing but make me crap. i may be hesitant working out at first but, i guess i just don't have a choice e?

i watched 'bride wars' today and it was quite hilarious.

thai movie-thon

Phobia 2 is a Thai horror flick which consist of 5 stories in one.

Novice – For fourteen year old Pey the idea of ‘karma’ is completely irrelevant. Pey has committed a crime so his mom decides that he must get ordained to become a Buddhist novice to escape. Under the guise of a monk Pey remains unnoticed as a criminal. However, something deep down inside is bothering him. KARMA is the main focus of the story, you pay for what you did regardless...

Backpackers – Upon graduation, a young Japanese couple decides to travel around Thailand by backpacking. After failed attempts to hitchhike from Samui Island to Bangkok, the boyfriend waves a 1,000 Baht note in hopes to entice passing cars to pick them up. Finally, a truck driver pulls over and picks them up. yeah, i was surprised to know the story was about ZOMBIES. right. another one of those. geesh.

Ward – A playful teenager crashes his bike and breaks both legs. At the hospital he is moved from the ER room to a shared room and he happened to share his ward with an old man in a coma (waiting for mercy killing). the twist? the man in coma is an avenging ghost already since technically he's brain dead and the poor teener became his angst absorber. what?

Salvage – Nuch is a car dealer and resells car after rebuilding them. little did her customers know, all her second hand cars were rebuilt from car crashes and bloody incidents linked to them. Nuch got what she bargained for to the point of losing her son.

In the End – Ter, Puak, Shin, and Aey are the movie crew of an upcoming horror movie. They are shooting their last scene. On the last night, Ter is trying to be cool and tells one of the cast members that, “the show must go on”. So when that actress accidentally dies during filming she makes sure to come back from the dead to finish her role. The four of them Ter, Puak, Shin and Aey must shoot the movie that has a real ghost playing the role of a ghost in the end!! this one really drove me nuts aside from the cast were also the same people i saw with phobia 1. 'in the end' made me laugh though bacause there came to a point wherein i couldn't tell anyomore which is real. damn.

post new year eve's syndrome

i need to detox. i did not eat much this morning except for 711's coffee and this homemade pasta i cooked new year's eve. the readily available white sauce i got from the groceries was awful but turned edible enough if you eat the pasta cold. i like cold pasta for some reason. i'm curious with this new korean brand of make up called Etude House.

happy new year--let's welcome the year of metal tiger!

i hate having work before new year's eve even. it's just that, instead of preparing for nye you're rushing home to join the rest whilst they prepare for media noche. not that we have a lot of preparing to do, it's just safe when you're already inside your den before all the fire starts cracking if you know what i mean. i was starving when i got home. good thing my sister already had this kfc bucket meal so i'm all set. i slept around 2AM after watching the fireworks from our balcony. it wasn't as spectacular unlike last year. i took a nap while waiting for the 12MN. i feel so tired going back to work. i can't believe it. another year just passed. i hope this year would be better and brighter, i hope this year is for me since it's the year of the cat--the metal tiger!

THE METAL TIGER 195O AND 2010

The Metal element gives the Tiger its sharpness in action and speed of thought. Tigers born in the Metal year like to stand out in a crowd. With an inspiring assertiveness and competitive demeanor, they determine their goals and then do anything necessary to achieve them. This good-looking character sometimes suffers from mood swings and temper tantrums. The Tiger can be known to jump to conclusions or to act too quickly without weighing the options or understanding the consequences. This is a flaw Tigers must learn to curb.
